Leagues Information

We are so excited you've chosen Spike Frog Volleyball for your athlete!

Spike Frog offers six youth volleyball divisions each Fall and Spring for boys and girls in 2nd–12th grade. Our league focuses on skill-based training, with fun, progressive drills led by trained volunteer coaches. What makes Spike Frog unique is our flexibility — players can request to be with friends, choose a coach, and even select their preferred practice night to fit around busy family schedules.

BOYS: All of our teams are CO-ED. We would love to have your boy join us to learn volleyball!

Spike Frog also offers two Minivolley divisions to kids age 4-6 and 6-8. Minivolley programs are totally fun with a focus on play and moving athletically. We use very low nets and light balls with positive coaching.

(Click the “Read More” button for location maps)
When completing the online form, enter Coach Joe’s name in the Coach Request section. If Coach Joe is coaching a team again and does not have a full roster already, we may place you on his team.
We welcome beginners in our league. Our Junior Frog (Grades 2-4) and our Spike Frog (Grades 5-6) Divisions are developmental programs for beginners and low-experience players. You may want to check out our TAP program to get a head start on skills training and practice. It’s not required but beneficial. (Click on the “Read More” button for information on our TAP programs.)

Absolutely yes. It is important your athlete gets maximum opportunity to learn and play the game. We also offer our Training for Excellence programs during the school year and the summer for those athletes that want to participate in a higher level of training with the goal to prepare for middle school tryouts. Also – our Boss Frog II Division is a higher level competitive division of play offered in the Spring season.

Our competitive Boss Frog II Division has several additional training, practice and tournament additions. If your athlete does not meet the criteria for Boss Frog II, she/he can play in the Boss Frog I Division for another season to gain more experience before moving to the higher level competitive division. We will post the results of the tryouts after the final tryout date and before league registration ends so that you will be guaranteed a spot in the league if you register before it closes.
Go to the online division registration page and click on the ‘Add to Waiting List’ button. Complete the online form and your athlete’s name will be placed on a waiting list. If a spot becomes available on a team, it will be offered to the next person on the waiting list. You will receive an email with the available practice day and time for that spot. We are unable to accommodate special requests and therefore will offer whatever spot is available in the division you want to play in. There will be a late registration fee added to the Registration fee.
That is a great idea for athletes that play at school together to play in the league together. Contact Us by Email and we will get your roster of names and assign a coach. If they want to play in Boss Frog II Division, that is offered in the Spring, each player will need to sign up and attend one of the tryouts for Boss Frog II. The player must meet the criteria of the tryout to be eligible to register for and play in the Boss Frog II Division. We will put all the eligible players on a team together. We make teams of 10 athletes and if there are fewer than 10, we may add other players to complete the team roster. We can provide coaches for our Boss Frog II teams that do not already have coaches.
We love for friends to play together. When you complete the online registration form, select Teammate Request and enter friends’ name(s). Tell friends to do the same. Make sure that you all choose the same ‘practice day preference’ in the online registration form.
When you complete the online registration form, choose Tuesday and Friday in the Practice Day Preference section. We will place you on a team that practices on that day.
Absolutely yes. All programs are open to boys and girls. We do have boys that play in our leagues.
Yes. We have athletes in the league that play other sports. They coordinate their game schedules and sometimes have to miss a game or two. Our teams have 10 players in the event a player is sick or has a conflict with another sport. Athletes are not penalized for missing a game.
Fantastic. You can complete our Volunteer Coaches Application online (click “read more” below) and we will contact you to go over details for coaching a league team. We will have a coaches training session, provide sample practice plans and support you throughout the season.
Absolutely yes. Please Contact Us by Email and include your name and information on bringing a team. We will reply and send you some instructions on how to make sure everyone gets registered on your team. You will want to have all team members to put your name in the ‘Coach Preference’ field in the online registration form.
