MEET THE COACHES
Ashley Taylor-Crossley has been active in coaching volleyball upon since the day she closed out her High School career with winning the Utah State 5A High School Championship her senior season. Ashley coached for Gold Medal Squared Camps in 2005 and became a Gold Medal Squared Certified Coach. She also head coached for Junior Varsity and assistance coached for Varsity at Lone Peak High School from 2005 - 2008. From the time she helped her team win state in 2003 until 2009 the Lone Peak team played in the championship game every year, winning five times. Ashley has also been active on the club coaching circuit since 2005 coaching 13s, 14s, 16s and 18s teams. Ashley has been coaching at Spike Frog Volleyball camps since 2009.
Dave Taylor began coaching volleyball in recreational leagues in 2003 and continued that until 2007. In 2005 he began coaching clubs teams in Texas and has continued that until present. In 2009 he became a USA Volleyball certified referee and continues to ref games until present. In 2010 he began coaching a High School team in Texas and continues that until present. Since 2006, Dave has run a private volleyball skills instruction business called Spike Frog Volleyball (Spike Frog Volleyball), which is based out of Austin, Texas.
Josh Taylor works as the Camp Director for Spike Frog Volleyball Camps. He grew up playing all three sports (Football, Basketball & Baseball) while finishing his High School career winning the Washington State High School Baseball state championship and becoming an All-State baseball selection. He got into volleyball at a young age due to his father coaching High School Girls Varsity in Washington State for 27 years and amassing over 500 wins. He assisted Ashley with her 16s club team in Utah and then began coaching his own 14s team in 2012. He is a Gold Medal Squared Certified Coach and has been running Spike Frog Camps since 2009.

We specialize in producing quality HS/JH volleyball skills camps with lots of fun. We hold a limited number of camps each year in an effort to make each camp personal. If we are not on a first name basis, then we have done something wrong. Our goal is to have each participant at the end of the camp say "Wow, I learned a lot and had a blast." If you are dragging your feet at a skills camp, then you are at the wrong one! We fine tune each skills camp to the audience and skill level. We look forward to working with you and elevating your game.

Philosophy and Goals:
Spike Frog Volleyball has designed an exclusive training program for volleyball players in 5th grade. This sports performance training program creates an educational environment intended to challenge, engage and support the dedicated student volleyball athlete. Athletes that participate in this program should truly enjoy the game of volleyball coupled with a desire to learn, improve, and work hard.
Principles:
Our standards and principles tutor our young athletes that “Anything less than your best is unacceptable”. While we understand that every young athlete may not play college volleyball or compete in the Olympics, we know our training principles allow for the development of skills and experience applicable to other areas of life. At Spike Frog Volleyball, we are truly passionate about working with young athletes who want to improve, raise their level of performance, and build self-confidence. Our goal-oriented program enables athletes to accelerate their progress.
Qualifications:
This program is for 5th grade athletes in 2014-2015 that have at least two seasons experience playing recreational volleyball. It is designed for the young athlete that wants a higher level of training that offers a head start on preparing for Middle School or club volleyball tryouts. Athletes train once a week for two hours with experienced coach instructors. Spots are limited.This camp is designed for beginner boys and girls. We use lightweight volleyballs and beach balls. Low nets are great for little kids to hit over. We teach skills with simple keys for spiking, passing, serving and setting. Guaranteed your child will have fun and learn at the same time. We highly recommend this camp for 2nd grade athletes planning to play in the Junior Frog Division of our Fall Leagues. Camp T-shirt included.

Lead Instructors:
Dave Taylor, experienced USAV club volleyball and High Performance coach, is a certified Gold Medal Squared skills instructor. As the owner of Spike Frog Volleyball, he has trained athletes in the sport of volleyball for more than a decade. Coach Dave continues to seek knowledge from the top coaches at the Olympic and collegiate levels. In turn, he shares this valuable training information with passionate youth, teens, and coaches. He also thoroughly enjoys working as a collegiate assistant coach at Concordia Lutheran University.
Doug Keyser, experienced club volleyball coach is Impact and USAV CAP I certified. Coach Doug recently finished a very successful season as the head coach of the Round Rock Christian Middle School volleyball team.
Experience:
Athletes MUST HAVE at least 2 seasons of playing experience.
* Players must be overhand serving the ball from the service line over the net consistently to join this program. If your athlete does not currently meet these standards, you may elect to join our TAP program or attend an Open Serve. Our next XLR8 program will start in December '14
